Dining

Mealtimes at Dee View Court are about more than nutrition, they’re a key part of daily life, offering comfort, choice, and opportunities for social connection. We recognise that every resident has unique dietary needs and personal preferences, and our approach to dining reflects that. From seasonal menu planning to one-to-one mealtime support, we aim to make every dining experience enjoyable, dignified, and tailored to the individual.

Personalised, Enjoyable Dining Experiences

At Dee View Court, we aim to provide delicious, well-balanced meals that meet a wide range of dietary and clinical needs. Residents are involved in shaping our seasonal menus and are invited to sample new dishes and share their feedback, helping us create meals that truly reflect their tastes. We offer a variety of dining areas across the centre, allowing residents to choose where they’d like to enjoy their meals, whether with others in a communal setting or in the comfort of their own room.

Every day begins with a selection of breakfast options such as porridge, cereals, yoghurt, toast with preserves, fruit, and juice. Cooked breakfasts are available on request. For lunch and supper, residents choose from three different plated meal options that cater to various dietary needs, including texture-modified meals and enteral nutrition where required. Soup of the day is available at lunch, and desserts or fresh fruit salads are served with both main meals. Alternative dishes can always be arranged for those with different preferences.

Supportive, Flexible Mealtime Options

We understand that some residents may require additional support at mealtimes. Where needed, a staff member is available to assist residents in eating at their own pace, offering discreet and respectful help to ensure that every person can enjoy their food comfortably.

Between meals, residents can enjoy access to snack boxes containing fruit, biscuits, juice, water, and homemade cakes, available throughout the day. Our in-house catering team works closely with the clinical and therapy teams to ensure all dietary requirements, including PEG feeding, dysphagia management, and cultural or religious preferences, are safely and thoughtfully accommodated. Whatever a resident’s needs or preferences, we aim to make mealtimes a relaxed and positive part of daily life.

We cater to a wide range of dietary requirements, including texture-modified diets, PEG feeding, and dietary needs linked to neurological conditions. Our staff are trained in dysphagia and nutritional support, and we work closely with the clinical team to ensure each resident receives appropriate meals.

Absolutely. Residents help shape our seasonal menus by tasting new dishes and sharing their feedback. This helps us build menus that reflect the preferences and cultural backgrounds of the people we support.

We offer flexible dining options. Residents can choose to eat in our communal dining spaces, where mealtimes become a social opportunity, or in their own rooms if they prefer a quieter environment. Staff are always available to support residents during meals if needed.
