Complex Disability Management

We provide medium to long-term specialist nursing care for individuals with complex or profound neurological disabilities. Our service is designed to support people who require high levels of clinical input, including advanced nursing care, 24-hour support, and access to a full multidisciplinary team.

We care for individuals with conditions such as Huntington’s disease, Motor Neurone Disease (MND), Multiple Sclerosis (MS), Parkinson’s disease, brain injury, and spinal cord injury—adapting our approach to meet the evolving nature of each person’s condition.

Our team delivers personalised care that includes enteral nutrition, postural management, and behavioural support. Therapy input is embedded into daily care routines, with physiotherapy and occupational therapy focused on maintaining function and preventing complications. We also provide access to assistive technology to enhance communication and autonomy. All care is tailored to the individual, with input from families, external specialists, and the residents themselves wherever possible, ensuring support that promotes dignity, comfort, and quality of life.

Rehabilitation

Our specialist rehabilitation for adults with complex neurological conditions, supporting them to regain function, increase independence, and build confidence in everyday life. Our goal-oriented programmes are designed for individuals recovering from events such as stroke, brain injury, or spinal cord injury, as well as for those living with progressive conditions like MS or Parkinson’s disease. We support people over an extended period, offering structured therapy that adapts as their needs and goals evolve.

Our multidisciplinary team—comprising physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and nursing staff—works closely with each resident to deliver personalised, evidence-based interventions. Therapy focuses on relearning daily living skills, improving mobility and communication, and developing strategies to manage fatigue and cognitive challenges.

Where appropriate, we also support individuals to prepare for a safe step-down to less intensive care or a return to independent or supported living. All rehabilitation takes place in a calm, accessible environment where progress is nurtured with compassion, expertise, and encouragement.

Neuro-Palliative Care Rehabilitation

At Dee View Court, we provide neuro-palliative care rehabilitation for individuals with progressive neurological conditions who require both symptom management and tailored therapeutic support. Our approach combines expert nursing care, personalised therapy, and emotional support to help residents maintain comfort, dignity, and as much independence as possible. Conditions such as advanced Huntington’s disease, MND, and late-stage MS often present complex challenges, and our team is experienced in managing pain, respiratory issues, fatigue, and changes in communication or cognition with sensitivity and clinical skill.

Care plans are developed through close collaboration between our in-house multidisciplinary team, community palliative services, and external specialists, ensuring every aspect of a person’s wellbeing is supported. Where appropriate, rehabilitation goals may focus on preserving current abilities, managing transitions, or supporting meaningful engagement in daily life. From postural management and mobility support to one-to-one emotional care and advanced end-of-life planning, we ensure each resident receives holistic, person-centred care that honours their values and preferences throughout every stage of their condition.

Supported Living

Our supported living service at Dee View Court offers a balance of independence and expert care for individuals with neurological conditions who do not require 24-hour nursing support but still benefit from access to specialist input. Residents live in purpose-built, fully accessible apartments where they hold their own tenancy and are supported to make choices about the type and level of care they receive. Support is flexible and tailored—ranging from help with daily living tasks to access to therapies, personal care, and assistive technology—depending on each person’s preferences and goals.

This setting allows individuals to maintain control over their routines while remaining connected to the wider care community at Dee View Court. With access to physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and other services on-site, residents can continue their rehabilitation or ongoing care within a safe and supportive environment. Communal and social spaces are also available, offering opportunities for connection and inclusion. Whether someone is working towards greater independence or wishes to live more autonomously with the reassurance of expert support nearby, our supported living model provides the right level of flexibility, dignity, and continuity of care.
